Built because the spreadsheet kept losing
SeatingSorted is a small, independent product — built and run by one person, not a company with a support tier and a ticket queue. When you email hello@seatingsorted.com, that is who replies.
Why it exists
Seating charts are the job everyone in a wedding leaves until last. Not because they are hard to draw — anyone can draw a circle — but because they are a social problem wearing a logistics costume. Aunt Mary cannot sit near Dave. The divorced parents need to be in the same room but not the same eyeline. The children need an adult. Your university friends should be together, except Sam only knows Jo.
A hundred and twenty guests is roughly forty constraints like these, and nobody holds forty constraints in their head at once. So people build a spreadsheet, colour-code it, move one person, and discover three others no longer work.
How the seating actually works
The rules you set are treated as real constraints, not suggestions. Couples together, keep-apart pairs kept apart, and children beside an adult are hard — the plan will not break them. Everything softer, like shared interests or a guest asking to sit near a friend, is optimised as well as it can be alongside the rest.
If you ask for something genuinely impossible — two people who must sit together, pinned to different tables — you are told which pair is the problem and what to change. You are never handed a chart that is quietly wrong.
What we do differently
Guests are asked, privately, who they would rather not sit with. Those answers are never shown to the organiser — not hidden behind a setting, not visible on request. They go into the seating and nowhere else. It is the most useful information in the whole process and the one thing nobody will say to a couple's face, so we ask on your behalf and keep it that way.
How it's paid for
One payment per event, priced by how many seats you need — from $50 for up to 200 guests. No subscription, no per-guest fee, no free trial that quietly becomes a bill. Building your guest list is free and stays free. If it is not right for you, we refund it within 14 days, no reason required.
